Full Form is Madras Rubber Factory Ltd.
This is the largest company in India which manufactures tyres. In addition to
tyres, MRF also makes tubes, treads, toys, paints, conveyor belts, etc. The
company also runs MRF Challenges (which is a motorsport), and MRF Pace
Foundation. MRF has won JD Power Award for ten times. This award is the highest
recognized award in the automotive industry and is equivalent to the Oscar
Award. MRF is currently the biggest manufacturer of tyres in the country. The
company has its headquarters in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The company
operates the MRF Pace Foundation, which is based in Chennai, and MRF Challenge
which pertains to motorsport.
MRF was founded as a toy manufacturing unit by
K.M. Mammen Mappillai in the year 1946 in Madras (which is now known as
Chennai). In the year 1952, the company started manufacturing tread rubber. In
the year 1960, the company was incorporated as a private company and it entered
into a partnership with the American company Mansfield Tire & Rubber Co.
based in Ohio. MRF eventually went public in the following year and established
an office in Beirut, Lebanon for the purposes of developing the export market
in the year 1964. It was during that time that the present logo of the company
was conceptualized. In the year 1967, a breakthrough event happened when MRF
became the first ever-Indian company to have exported tyres to the United
States of America. Eventually, the company entered into collaborations with
several prominent companies and ventured into various areas.
MRF has established manufacturing units for tyres
at Kottayam in Arakonam, Puducherry, Kerala, and Perambur in the state of Tamil
Nadu and Medak, in the state of Telangana. In the state of Goa, it has
established facilities for the manufacture of toys. The coats and paints are
manufactured in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The contribution of MRF has been
acknowledged in numerous circumstances. In the year 2014, the company was
awarded the JD Power Award for the 11th which was a record in
itself. This award is often considered commensurate with the Oscars and is
presently the highest honor in the automobile industry.
MRF Full Form is a
representation for Material Recovery Facility. It refers to
the place where various recyclable materials like plastics, paper, metal, etc.
are collected from households and sorted. This is done through a combination of
automated and manual process. MRF here is also known as Materials Recycling
Facility, Materials Reclamation Facility, and Multi-Reuse Facility. This helps
to recycle materials and to contribute greatly to the environment.
